This panel discussion will guide participants through the BOMH process and answer questions to strengthen understanding and ethical advocacy for those experiencing extensive mental health symptoms.
Course Objectives
- Understand the need and purpose of a Board of Mental Health Commitment
- Understanding the various professional roles involved in the BOMH process.
- Understand nuances between districts and their processes.
- Understand the difference between treatment and “placements”.
- Increase understanding of the Nebraska Mental Health Commitment Act and where to find it.
