Course Description

This panel discussion will guide participants through the BOMH process and answer questions to strengthen understanding and ethical advocacy for those experiencing extensive mental health symptoms.

Course Objectives

  1. Understand the need and purpose of a Board of Mental Health Commitment
  2. Understanding the various professional roles involved in the BOMH process.
  3. Understand nuances between districts and their processes.
  4. Understand the difference between treatment and “placements”.
  5. Increase understanding of the Nebraska Mental Health Commitment Act and where to find it.
